Closing Industry Deals From The Entertainment Lawyer’s Perspective

In today's vlog, David speaks with Gregg Ramer, a Seasoned Entertainment Transactional Attorney, about the different industry deals you'll make as a filmmaker or producer, including CAM Agreements, aka how you pay people when you make money on your film. Gregg has advised clients on the development, production, financing, acquisition, distribution, marketing, and exploitation of motion pictures, television properties, evolving media, video games, merchandising, and branded entertainment. He has also assisted clients in the formation and governance of business entities and the perfection of secured property interests. Gregg was previously an attorney with the Directors Guild of America and practiced as an associate at two major international law firms. Prior to his legal career, he worked in numerous facets of the entertainment business including production, story development, and distribution.

David is a long-time member of Stage 32 and has worked in film and television since 2007 as an international consultant, representative, and executive producer. He runs the consultancy firm Zannoni Media and is a consultant for North America for Freeway Entertainment, a global leader in collection account management and escrow services for the international film and TV industries. He's also taught multiple webinars through Stage 32, as well as writing blog posts on a range of topics, and hosting AMAs in the lounges.
